The questions we hear most, answered in full. If yours isn't here, just get in touch.
Most travel companies move you through a destination. We move you into it. Our journeys are small — never more than 13 guests — and designed around depth rather than distance. We go to fewer places, stay longer, and choose everything — the properties, the guides, the pace — based on how it feels rather than what it costs.
Yes. If none of our scheduled journeys fit your dates, your group, or what you have in mind, we will design something specifically for you. Tell us what you are looking for and we will be in touch to begin the conversation.
Start with an enquiry — by email or WhatsApp. We will respond within 24 hours to answer your questions and confirm availability. A deposit of 20% secures your place, with the balance due 60 days before departure.
All ground transport within India, boutique and heritage accommodation throughout, all meals listed on the itinerary, guided experiences and entrance fees, and a dedicated lead guide for the journey. A detailed inclusions list is on each journey page.
Unless you are sharing a room with a travel partner, a single supplement applies. This varies by journey and is listed on each journey page.
Absolutely. Many of our guests travel solo. You will join a small group of like-minded travellers — typically between 8 and 13 people — and share accommodation on a twin or double basis unless you prefer the single supplement.
Cancellations made more than 90 days before departure receive a full refund of the deposit. Between 60 and 90 days, 50% of the deposit is retained. Within 60 days, the full deposit is non-refundable. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.
Most international visitors require a visa for India. Citizens of many countries — including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia — are eligible for an e-Visa, which can be applied for online before travel. We recommend applying at least two weeks before departure.
Yes — travel insurance is required for all Rupin Travels guests. Your policy should cover medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and cancellation. We are happy to suggest what to look for if you need guidance.
We recommend consulting your doctor or a travel health clinic at least six weeks before departure. Commonly recommended vaccinations for India include hepatitis A and B, typhoid, and tetanus. Your doctor will advise based on your personal health history and the specific regions you are visiting.
It depends on where you are going. Kerala is best visited between October and March, when the monsoon has passed and the days are warm and clear. Tamil Nadu is good year-round, with the cooler months of November to February being particularly pleasant. Each journey page notes the recommended travel window.
Light, breathable clothing in neutral colours. A layer for cooler evenings, particularly in the hills. Comfortable walking shoes. A light scarf or shawl — useful for temple visits and cooler mornings. A full packing guide is sent to all confirmed guests before departure.
Every enquiry is answered personally, usually within 24 hours. No automated responses, no booking forms — just a real conversation about your journey.
